So this is our first blog post since we’ve been up and running, just shy of a year. And what a year it’s been. After 3 years as We Got a Pulse, we’ve transformed into Godfrey Digital. We’ve made the reluctant (but inevitable) migration to Macs, increased our client base and started drinking peppermint tea.
Now on nearly our 1st Birthday as Godfrey Digital, we are getting ready to move into new offices as well as expand our workforce. Despite it being notoriously difficult to find experienced web developers in Brighton, we’ve got a pretty good response so far and are looking forward to meeting the new candidates. We hope they’re going to be as excited about the new offices as we are. We’ll still be located in the Kemp Town area, but a bit more central. That means we’ll be a bit closer to the lovely Ground Cafe, who make a delectable cup of coffee and hot chocolate. It also means we’ll be closer to The Real Patisserie – Craig’s personal favourite that he only gets to nosh at when I’ve brought my packed lunch.
One downside to the move is we’ll be splitting up with our sister company Godfrey Investments. It’s been fun while it lasted and I’m sure we’ll still be seeing much of each other. But they’ll be moving in next door to us in no time, so we look forward to that. In the meantime, we’re on our own, it’s ours and we can’t wait.
On the work side of things, we’ve just secured some very exciting contracts that we hope to post up on the blog when complete. We’ve also got a new joint venture iOS application being released soon, which are always thrilling to launch. Video Wallpapers HD is still doing a job on the App Store. We were very much dipping our toes in with that, but we’ve been more than happy with the return. We still think there’s a lot of room for innovation and maneuverability on the App Store, despite there being 585,000 apps on there at the time of writing… probably 600,000 now. Just as soon as we get the time, hopefully we’ll be executing some of our ideas that we’ve got stored in our mind factories.
As I write this, I’m adamant that I won’t be re-reading over these words in 6 months time and it being the last blog post we wrote. It’s been fun, so we hope, actually we don’t ‘hope’, screw ‘hope’ – we WILL be bringing you another update very soon, including photos of the kitted out digs as well as some tidbits from the tech-related industries. Until then!
